Tim Treadstone, better known by his stage name and Twitter handle Baked Alaska, set Twitter a blaze yesterday when he created the Hashtag #TrumpGirlsBreakTheInternet with an image of beautiful young women sporting a one of Trump’s camo “Make America Great Again” hats as seen above.
The hashtag saw a huge influx of traffic, eventually making it the most popular trending tag in the world. The conversation in the tag is very mixed with beautiful female Trump supporters strutting their stuff while showing their support for Trump, to notably less attractive women trying to shame these supporters by calling them ugly (which they are not) or body shame them for the photos. Others just tried to call them racist like this middle aged “activist”.
Baked Alaska’s former employer, BuzzFeed, showing either malice or ignorance of how Twitter works, attributed the popularity of the hashtag to the Twitter account @BabesForTrump
which posted this morning in response to Baked Alaskas tag after it reached number 1 on world wide Twitter trends. It is notable that @BabesForTrump has over 100 female supporter photo posts and growing, all of which are rather attractive.
Twitter would later remove the auto-complete for the tag, a tactic it uses to try to decrease the popularity of tags that go against their internal ideology. Hashtags such as GamerGate, ShuffleGate, TrumpTrain and more have been treated in this fashion in the past.
At the end of the day, Trump girls just want to have fun, and the masses trying to shame them are just looking like an ugly mass of flesh with blue hair.
